Claire Carpenter - The power of the spoken word

Promote Your Book

How to boost sales of your book using the power of the spoken word.

Congratulations! You've published your book – that's a wonderful achievement and a great deal to be proud of. Now for the next stage – getting your book out there and into the hands of your readers.

Without the weight of a large publishing house behind you it can be difficult to sell your book in large quantities. One of the most effective and fun ways is through speaking to groups. There are hundreds of groups and organisations on the lookout for speakers and as a newly published author many of them will be very keen to have you in to speak to them. Many of them will pay you to speak, and they will certainly buy copies of your book. Civic groups, entrepreneurial groups, trade associations, charities, writers groups, even schools and colleges, particularly if you are local and your subject matter is relevant to them.

I published my first book in 2009, and it was this that led me to my speaking career. The thought of speaking in public terrified me at first, but now I love it. I've learnt how to craft a speech that delights the audience and has them queuing to buy my books. I've learnt to control my nerves and how to get bookings and get re-booked.

And I can show you too. If you'd like help in getting yourself booked as a speaker and developing a speech that will delight your audience and boost sales of your books, call me for a no-obligation chat.

All my coaching takes place via telephone, skype, Google+ hangout or live in person if you are in or around Sussex, UK.
